I qualified in 1995 with a First Class, BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University. I won the CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) board prize for coming second in my year. I gained general rotational experience working in large hospitals in Glasgow before specialising in musculoskeletal outpatients. I moved to Fife to continue my NHS career. I have worked my way through the ranks to work as an Advanced practice Orthopaedic practitioner. I split my working week with private and NHS clinics and Pilates sessions. I currently work along side NHS consultants in Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery to provide Orthopaedic spinal outpatient clinics. I also provide physio services for private companies and work from a clinic room at home to provide physio and Pilates sessions.
When i had my second child I trained in Physiotherapy led Pilates, including general matwork, Antenatal and Postnatal Pilates. I appreciated at that time how vulnerable you can feel in pregnancy and the postnatal period and trained to be a FitBack and bumps instructor. Since then, I have vowed to help empower pregnant and postnatal women to have a happy and healthy pregnancy and postnatal period. I enjoy helping clients manage painful conditions and rehabilitate back to their specific goals.
Extensive post graduate courses and self study keeps my current practice safe, effective and evidence based in keeping with the requirements of my Professional bodies: HCPC and CSP
